Lord Home, at the centre of the fight over Mainshill Wood in South Lanarkshire, is also at the centre of a massive fraud investigation by the FBI and UK authorities. This doesn’t come as a surprise to Douglas residents and occupiers at Mainshill Solidarity Camp – he has misled and lied to communities all over the Douglas Valley over new open cast for decades, so an international banking scandal seems quite true to character!
Read here for more about Lord Home and why he’s destroying communities over quick profits from new coal.
What a banker!
From the Douglas Community Council Website: “Lord Home Chairman of Coutts Bank the HM Queen’s Bankers is “named” with senior Coutts Offshore bank officials in the Carroll Trust Case. Sources close to the Carroll Foundation Charitable Trust board of trustees have confirmed that compelling criminal evidence material has been submitted to Scotland Yard and the FBI surrounding the fraudulent incorporation of “dummy” Gerald Carroll Trust Coutts bank accounts and the resultant embezzlement of over $150,000,000, (one hundred and fifty million dollars) of Carroll Trust liquid funds held in criminal offshore bank accounts.
Lord Home and Michael Morley the new chief executive of Coutts Bank are faced with very serious criminal allegations of conspiracy to defraud racketeering money laundering offshore tax evasion is Britain’s longest running largest organised criminal conspiracy corruption case.
The Carroll Foundation Trust one billion dollars “cross border” international criminal syndicate case is currently being retained within a – LOCKDOWN – at the FBI US Department of Justice Washington DC field office. Britain’s Attorney Generals Office under the supervision of the Rt Hon Baroness Scotland QC in concert with the Metropolitan Police Scotland Yard Westminster London UK.”
Lies and deception over new open cast
So the reason this doesn’t surprise us is because of the lies and deceit over new open cast coal mines that Douglas Valley residents have become so accustomed to. In letters sent in reply to concerns and objections from local residents to plans to allow Scottish Coal to open cast Mainshill Wood, he says that he too is concerned about the impacts on communities and the environment, and has bought back Mainshill Wood from those to whom he previously sold the land at a significant personal expense, as he too was worried they would allow open casting on it.
Then, surprise surprise, he’s doing a deal with Scottish Coal to mine it himself. He wasn’t worried about the land being mined, he was worried about not being the one to profit from it! So if the land cost around £400,000 to buy back and an estimated £75,000,000 will be made from the coal mining, who stands to gain? Again, its communities and the environment that lose out, whilst this corrupt aristocrat profits.
Significant personal expense?
What will be costly to Lord Home is evicting the Mainshill Solidarity Camp. If he thought buying back Mainshill Wood was expensive, wait until he’s hired the National Eviction Team and half of Strathclyde Police for a few weeks! The simple option is to cancel plans to mine Mainshill Wood – that way the community gets what it wants, the wildlife and landscape stays intact, dirty coal is left in the ground and Lord Home doesn’t have a massive eviction bill to pick up.
